History has it that, about 1840 to 1843 the village of Stone Bank was called Johnson's Mill, then it was a grist-mill and blacksmith shop, a school, church, post office, general goods store, and a few wood framed houses and barns, Stone Bank was on its way. About 1854 the Hotel Stone Bank was built (now called the Meat'n Place), by Jos. Schlitz Brewing Company. It was used by travelers as an overnight stay between Milwaukee and Madison. Through the years the Hotel has had many owners and changes. Around the early 1900's two of the first managers of the hotel were the Gaganas and the VanLare's. Other owners were the Gehl's, Weileder's, D.G. Robinson and Sally's. Then July 14th 1988, Joe Armeli, owner of Pepino's Restaurants, Carry-outs and Delis decided to purchase the Meat'n Place. Inside of a year he managed to maintain fine dining and excellent service, while changing the entire look of the building.

Now, together with family and staff, we invite you to enjoy an evening of fine food and cocktails.
